[11.06.2OO2] Protest picket in Tash-Komur continues

According to the public committee to protect Deputy Azimbek Beknazarov, about 1,500 people took part on 11 June in a protest picket along the Bishkek-Osh highway near the town of Tash-Komur in southern Jalal-Abad Province.
They do not block the highway but demand to release seven people detained by police on 8 June and say would make a march to Jalal- Abad City, center of the province, if the people are not released. The picketers also demand to acquit Beknazarov and to try and punish those responsible for the Aksy bloodshed.
Deputy of Parliament Bektur Asanov told RFE/RL correspondent on 11 June that he and the two other deputies, Azimbek Beknazarov and Bektur Asanov, ask people not to violate the laws and the picketers act correspondingly. However, the tensions are growing in the south.
