The volume of industrial production went up 4 percent in the CIS on average in the first seven months of 2002 as compared to the corresponding period last year, the CIS Statistics Committee reported. The largest production growth was registered in Armenia - 11.9 percent. The source stated that the report did not include data on Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan as no information on their industrial production was provided. A fall in industrial production volumes was registered only in Kyrgyzstan (17.1 percent). The rest of CIS states saw a rise in the volumes of industrial production from January to July 2002, which reached 11.2 percent in Moldavia, 8.9 percent in Kazakhstan, 7.8 percent in Tajikistan, 6.1 percent in Ukraine, 3.9 percent in Russia, 3.2 percent in Belarus, 2.1 percent in Azerbaijan and 1.5 percent in Georgia.
