[20.12.2OO2] 11 months of 2OO2 Marked 1.7 % Decline in the Kyrgyz GDP

National Statistics Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic reports that the GDP of Kyrgyzstan, estimated for 11 months of 2002, is 1.7 % lower compared to the same period last year. It is equal to 66,313 bln soms.
Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic produced an output of 38,8 bln soms in January-November of 2002. Volume index of industrial production is equal to 82.4%, (99.5% without Kumtor performance).
All crops except for the 70 hectares of sugar beet have been harvested by December. Aggregate output of agricultural products and services amounted to 48,158 bln soms in the period of January November of 2002 (2.9% more compared to last year statistics.)
In 11 months of 2002, 7,363.4 mln soms of capital investment were utilized for building construction, repair, expansion and re-equipment of new buildings which is 12.1% less than last year. Gross construction output was equal to 5,897.5 mln soms (95.9% of the last year performance).
There was 100.4% increase in the volume of freight traffic.
The volume of retail trade, including catering has gone up by 7.9% compared to 2001 and is now equal to 31,423.3 mln soms, the volume of public utility services has gone up by 2.7% and is equal to 7,691.3 mln soms.
