[06.06.23] Bishkek Hosts Forum on Education in Central Asia

The second session of the Forum on education in Central Asia and Kazakhstan (CARK) opened in Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) on 5 June 2003. The event will last till 6 June 2003.
 
The Forum aims to sum up and draw new programs on securing quality education to all children, youth and adults. In particular, the Forum will discuss estimation of education reforms in five Central Asian states with a view to develop partnership with international and non-governmental organizations, interstate cooperation and experience exchange for successful completion of Education for Kids and Adults (EKA) program by 2005.
 
Achievement of full comprehension and adherence to observance of child's rights and increase of quality of basic education as a part of the Global movement for Children and Convention on Child's Rights will be brought up as well. Regional representations of UNICEF and UNESCO organized the Forum in January 2002.
 
The given association unites five Central Asian states: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
