[21.06.23] AIDS in Kyrgyzstan

According to the recent reports, there are 197 HIV-infected in Osh oblast, 6 in Batken and 13 in Jalal-Abad.
Over 25 mln people died of AIDS all over the world, with 13 mln orphaned children.
Overall there are 40 mln infected at the present time.
While in 1994, 30 thousand people got infected in Western Europe and Central Asia, 4 years later it was already 420 thousand a year. In 2001 the rate reached 1 mln people a year.
There is a serious threat of HIV to spread in Kyrgyzstan as well, particularly in Jalal-Abad and Osh oblast
90% of all HIV-infected there abuse drugs
Since there is no cure, measures have to be take to prevent the disease from spreading
