[23.04.23] Batken Offers Its Territory to Construct A Micro Oil-Processing Plant

National Statistic Committee data shows that JSC "Kyrgyzsneftegas" has extracted 20,5 and 18,7 tons of oil in 2001 and 2002 correspondingly from the Arkin mountain range of Batken oblast. Oil, extracted by JSC "Kyrgyzsneftegas" is transported by railroad through Tajikistan and Uzbekistan to the oil-processing plant in Kochkor-Ata (Jalal-Abad oblast). Batken oblast officials believe that oil transportation costs are too high and question feasibility of the oil well developed by JSC "Kyrgyzsneftegas".
Governor of the oblast proposes to turn the oil well over to JSC "Batken neftegas" and develop a project of a micro oil-processing plant to meet the local demand for fuel and lubricants. At the present time, a group of Australian companies - IOR - offered the oblast administration to construct such a plant.
