Kyrgyzstan posted inflation of 0.2% in January-August 2003, the country's Prime Minister, Nikoilai Tanaev, said at a parliamentary session on Tuesday.
The national currency climbed 10% in this period and the money base rose 15.6% to 8.8 billion soms, he said.
Foreign trade amounted to $638.7 million in January-July 2003, up 10.5% year-on-year, with exports up 0.6% and imports up 13.5%.
GDP rose 3.4% year-on-year in January-August to 46.86 billion soms, according to preliminary figures from the national statistics committee. There was a 2.4% year-on-year slide in the same period of 2002.
Industrial production grew 10.8% in the first eight months of 2003 to 30.78 billion som, and agricultural output rose 4.1% to 26.32 billion som.
The official exchange rate on September 9 stood at 42.7506 som/$1.
