[22.04.23] Danger of Landslides and Floods Is Increasing In Kyrgyzstan

The Kyrgyz Ministry of Ecology and Emergency Situations told journalists today that there is an increased danger of mudslides and floods in different parts of the country. Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev visited the Kochkor district of the remote Naryn region today. Transportation between the town of Naryn and the Kochkor district is restricted because of the danger of snowfall. Some parts of the Bishkek-Torugart highway are being cleaned of snow and mud.
There is a danger of flooding for about 800 families in the remote Atbashy district of the same region. Local authorities of the Jalal-Abad and Talas regions also are taking measures for fighting possible floods and landslides.
