Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies detained an Uzbek citizen suspected of involvement in setting off an explosion in Osh (southern Kyrgyz town) on 8 May.
A source at the Kyrgyz Interior Ministry has told Interfax that one person was killed when a self-made device was detonated in an Osh currency exchange office on 8 May.
The ministry assessed this crime as an act of terror engineered by advocates of the radical religious group Khizb Ut-Tahrir.
The detained Uzbek national is suspected of having contacts with Khizb Ut-Tahrir extremists.
According to preliminary evidence, the gang that organised the blast in Osh consisted of three people. Kyrgyz interior officers are actively searching for the other two people involved.
