[30.05.2OO2] New prime minister on the tasks of the government

Newly appointed Prime Minister Nikolai Tanaev stressed on 30 May that human rights will be his government's top priority: "The most important [thing] is the respect of human rights, and the collaboration with non-governmental organizations, public organizations, parties, every citizen." He said the new government would act in frame of the "Comprehensive development Framework" program for 2001-2010, adopted in May 2001.
Tanaev was born in 1945 in the Penza region of Russia, graduated from the institute in Jambyl, Kazakhstan, in 1969 and worked in Kyrgyzstan in construction sector since. He headed the State Commission on Construction and Architecture for a year before December 2000.
