[30.05.2OO2] Deputies of parliament on appointment of Tanaev

Chairman of the opposition Erkin Kyrgyzstan Party, Deputy of Parliament Tursunbai Bakir Uulu said on 30 May that Tanaev was first deputy prime minister in the old government, which was responsible for the bloodshed in Aksy, and should not have become head of the new one. Also, living in Kyrgyzstan for more than 30 years, he does not speak Kyrgyz. "The president's decision is not right; first, because the previous government has resigned and those who were part of this government cannot be member of the new one; second, if he is been living for so long in Kyrgyzstan, why doesn't he speak our language? The essential for Akayev was to chose a man who cannot become president," said Bakir Uulu.
The other deputy of parliament, Adaham Madumarov, said, "It is one of the president's numerous tricks. He is going to Saint Petersburg [on June 7 for the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization], and each time he travels, he is ready to behave like a servant."
