[30.05.2OO2] Akayev: there was not and is not political crisis in the country

President Askar Akayev said in his address to the upper parliamentary chamber on 30 May that there was not and is not any political crisis in the country. According to him, only certain forces of the country spread their ideas on crisis and force psychosis in the country saying there are political, socio- economical, and governmental and some other crises.
The same time, Akayev said that both the authorities and opposition are responsible for the bloody events in Aksy last March and the both got bankrupt. However, according to him, the authorities got through an ablution and penitence before the society with it. Police killed six people opening fire at a demonstration in Aksy on 17 and 18 March, they demanded to acquit and release arrested Deputy Azimbek Beknazarov. Beknazarov, who criticized Akayev, was arrested on 5 January and released on 19 March and sentenced on 24 May to suspended imprisonment and could be now stripped of parliamentary mandate.
