[30.05.2OO2] Kulov has not yet received a written court ruling

According to the opposition Ar-Namys Party, its chairman and former vice president of Kyrgyzstan Feliks Kulov has not yet received a written court ruling against him, taken on 8 May, and his defending lawyers cannot appeal yet against the verdict. A district court sentenced Kulov to 10 years of imprisonment convicting him of embezzlement in 1993-1997, when he was the governor of the Chui Province.
He was serving already another prison term when was sentenced again, the Bishkek City military court sentenced him on 22 January 2001 to seven years of imprisonment, convicting him of power abuse when he was the minister of national security in 1997-1998. The same court acquitted him of the same charges in August 2000 and the opposition says the both cases were politically motivated.
