[15.07.2OO2] Forum of leaders says there is a crisis in Kyrgyzstan

Organizers of the Forum of Leaders of Kyrgyzstan (FLK) Chinara Jakypova and Tolekan Ismailova told RFE/RL correspondents in Bishkek on 15 July that more than 100 people took part in the forum on 13 July and about 15 of them made reports. The forum adopted a resolution calling for balanced and equal dialogue between the authorities and the civil society of the country. It is said in the resolution that the forum would be a permanently working institute for sharing ideas and working out recommendations to reach stability in the society. According to Jakypova, one of the aims of the forum is to release jailed former vice president of the country Feliks Kulov.
Speaker of the lower parliamentary chamber Abdygany Erkebaev, Foreign Minister Askar Aitmatov, adviser to the president on public relations Bolot Januzakov, deputies of parliament Ismail Isakov, Zainidin Kurmanov, Adaham Madumarov, Oksana Malevanaya, Marat Sultanov; President of the National TV and Radio Corporation Toktobubu Aitikeeva, Businessman and former parliamentarian Almaz Atambaev, former foreign minister Muratbek Imanaliev, former president of the National Academy of Sciences Turar Koichuev, human rights activist Dmitry Kabak, head of the OSCE office in Bishkek Aidyn Idil, Deputy US Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Deborah Klepp, David Lewis of the International Crisis Group, journalists, other experts and representatives of international organizations participated.
