[05.06.23] Kyrgyzstan to Help Rebuild Iraq, Afghanistan - Kyrgyz Foreign Minister

Kyrgyz Foreign Minister Askar Aitmatov has said Kyrgyzstan is ready to send specialists to help restore peace and bring life back to normal in Afghanistan and Iraq. He voiced this readiness during talks with U.S. Vice President Dick Chaney.
The two men met in the course of the foreign minister's visit to the United States, the ministry's press service told Interfax on Thursday.
"The American side highly praised Kyrgyzstan's desire to pursue creative partnership with the United States in the national interests of both countries," the ministry said.
"The sides also spotlighted international security issues, in particular, ways to normalize the situation in Afghanistan and resolve the Iraqi crisis," the press service said.
Aitmatov's working visit to the U.S. started on June 1 and will end on June 6.
