A working group of the secretariat of the Kyrgyz Security Council led by the deputy secretary of the Kyrgyz Security Council, Askarbek Mameyev, has visited [southern] Osh and Jalal-Abad regions.
During the visit to the southern regions, the working group held meetings with governors Naken Kasiyev of Osh Region and Dzhusupbek Sharipov of Dzhalal-Abad. Meetings with the chiefs of the law-enforcement bodies and security services of the two regions were held and the chiefs [of law-enforcement bodies and security services] reported on the implementation of the Security Council resolutions for the period from 2001 to the first quarter of 2003, including on the regional agencies' work to ensure national security.
The working group analyzed the current social and political situation in the two regions and made specific recommendations on maintaining stability in the southern Kyrgyz regions.
The representatives of the secretariat of the Kyrgyz Security Council also drew the attention of the meeting to the fact that the resolutions of the secretariat of the Kyrgyz Security Council should be implemented unconditionally…
