[19.06.2OO3] Russian Defense Enterprise Seeking Partnership with Kyrgyz Military Plant

Kyrgyz Deputy Prime Minister Joomart Otorbayev has held talks with director general of the Association of Cartridge Plants Vladimir Sopotov and head of the Barnaul [central Russia] Machine-Tool Plant Viktor Yashin on Thursday [19 June].
In the course of talks the sides discussed matters of establishment of economic ties, a source at the Information Department of Kyrgyzstan's government told Itar-Tass. Russian industrialists are interested in products of the Bishkek Machine-Building Plant, which was part of the Soviet military industrial complex. The Russians plan to establish partner ties with the enterprise.
The source said during the meeting Otorbayev had said in particular, "after political support, Russian-Kyrgyz relations should be backed with real examples of successful economic, technological and cultural cooperation".
