[26.06.23] Iran, Kyrgyzstan to Increase Trade Volume 5-Fold

Commerce Minister Mohammad Shariatmadari said here on Tuesday that Iran and Kyrgyzstan are to increase the value of their trade transactions five-fold to $200 million from about $40 million in recent years by signing protocols to ease preferential tariffs on imported or exported goods.
Shariatmadari told his Kyrgyz counterpart Jeenbekov that in recent years, volume of transactions between Iran and Kyrgyzstan was about 40 million dollars on average, the balance being tilted in Iran's favor by $30 million.
The Iranian Minister proposed the establishment of commercial centers in either country for the purpose, IRNA reported.
Jeenbekov said his country too is ready to remove certain trade barriers. He said market of Iranian goods at zero tariffs would result in their easy entry to Central Asian markets.
